 What is Square foot Gardening (SFG)?
It is an intensive gardening concept designed in squares and works in squares. 1’x1’ is one unit. Each unit is treated separately and different crops are grown in each unit.

What can be grown in each unit?
You will be startled to know that you can harvest 16 radishes, 9 Palak, 4 lettuce heads, 4 corn and what not in each unit i.e 1’x1’. If you have enough boxes you can say bye to your vegetable vendor.

Product Details- 
The package contains 5 Coir boards, ___ number of Stainless Screws, Aluminium grid. The 4 side boards with the slots are interlocked into position forming a box. The Bottom board is then placed at the bottom of the box and screwed into place by the Stainless Steel screws provided in the package. The Aluminium grid is placed on the top of the box to differentiate between each Square to make your new Square foot Garden complete.

How to use it- 
Once the box is ready, Place the box close to your home and a location which receives minimum 4-6 hours of sunlight everyday without fail. Once the box has been placed, remove the grid to fill up the box and prepare the soil mixture which goes into the box.After reaching half way stage while filling , water the mixture gently so that the mixture settles down. Add the remaining half of mixture into the box. Place the grid and check if everything is fit properly.You are ready to sow & harvest.

Advantages- 
It is an easy peasy Gardening method. Beginning from the Soil mixture which will remain soft and easy to maintain. Only Compost has to be refilled every time the level in the box reduces as the plant grows. There are minimum weeds. The spacing or thinning of plants is easy in this system as we grow everything in squares. What all plants can be grown in it ? Typically any seasonal Vegetable /flower plants/ berry plants. There is no restriction to what you can grow. You just have to get the spacing right.

Soil Mixture- 
The famous square foot garden soil mixture which goes into the box can be formulated in the following
ways- 
 1/3 Vermiculite+ 1/3 Coco peat + 1/3 compost
 or
 1/2 coco peat + 1/2 compost
 or
 Only Good compost
 Depending on the availability of materials.
